Pukyong National University Opens Doors to Middle School Students... Nature, Fisheries, and Marine Camp
About 270 Middle School Students Participate in Experiments, Lectures, and Practicals on Campus
Pukyong National University (President Jang Youngsoo) has opened its doors wide to middle school students.
Pukyong National University announced on the 25th that it held a series of programs for local middle school students during the summer vacation, including the "Natural Science Exploration Class," "Summer Fisheries School," and "Marine Science Camp," which offer hands-on experiences such as experiments, lectures, and practical training on campus.
These annual programs at Pukyong National University are designed to foster middle school students' interest in the fields of natural sciences, fisheries science, and marine science. The university's professional instructors provide various hands-on opportunities using facilities and equipment such as laboratories and lecture halls.
About 120 local middle school students participated in the Natural Science Exploration Class organized by the College of Natural Sciences (Dean Yoon Min), conducting experiments in five courses: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and scientific computing.
About 70 students took part in the Summer Fisheries School hosted by the College of Fisheries Science (Dean Park Wonkyu), participating in four programs including a one-day fisheries disease management experience.
About 80 students attended the Marine Science Camp organized by the College of Environmental and Marine Sciences (Dean Han Kyungsoo), where they attended lectures on the marine environment and toured the Pukyong National University research vessel Naraho.
