Prosecution Seeks 4-Year Prison Sentence for Yoo Ah-in on Charges of Habitual Drug Use
The prosecution has demanded a 4-year prison sentence for actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Eom Hong-sik), who has been indicted on charges of habitual drug use.

View original imageOn the 24th, the 25th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Ji Gwi-yeon) requested the court to sentence Yoo, who was charged with violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances) and other charges, to 4 years in prison, a fine of 2 million won, and a confiscation of 1.54 million won. The prosecution also demanded a 4-year prison sentence for Yoo's acquaintance Choi, who was indicted together.
Yoo is accused of habitually using medical propofol and other drugs 181 times under the pretense of sedation for cosmetic procedures at hospitals around Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022. The medical narcotics confirmed to have been used by Yoo include four types: propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam.

Yoo was also indicted on charges of illegally obtaining and purchasing over 1,100 tablets of two types of sleeping pills under another person's name 44 times from May 2021 to August 2022. In January of last year, he was also charged with smoking marijuana in the United States with four accomplices, including Choi, and instructing others to smoke it.
