During the event, 24 participants completed the Nordic Walking Assistant Instructor Course and 8 completed the Full Instructor Course through two days of beach Nordic walking training and proper walking technique education, targeting Uljin residents who registered in advance.

Nordic walking is an exercise that originated from cross-country skiing, a winter sport, and involves holding special poles in both hands and moving forward naturally as if walking on four limbs. Since Nordic walking uses both the upper and lower body, it burns more calories than regular walking, but puts less strain on the joints, making it helpful for proper walking.

The county expects that this Nordic walking instructor training course, along with the future development of a barefoot walking experience course in the Wolsongjeong area of Pyeonghae-eup, will create a synergy effect in fostering a walking culture among Uljin residents.

County Governor Son Byungbok said, "Through Nordic walking, we will contribute to promoting public health, creating jobs, and revitalizing the local economy. With the creation of a barefoot walking experience course, Uljin County will be reborn as the best walking destination in the country."
