Hapcheon County Wins Top Prize in Tourism Content with 'Ghost Park Awake'
Promotional Booth Set Up at the 9th Korea International Tourism Fair
Hapcheon County in Gyeongnam announced that it received the top excellence award in the tourism content category at the 9th Korea International Tourism Fair held at Ilsan KINTEX on the 22nd.
This fair was held successfully with the participation of 191 organizations and companies, including domestic metropolitan and basic local governments, as well as 12 countries from overseas. Hapcheon County set up a booth to promote Ghost Park Awake, the largest summer horror festival in the country, and showcased it to visitors.
In particular, the county's Ghost Park Awake promotional booth attracted great attention from visitors by operating a photo zone using floor trick art. In addition, they increased awareness of the horror festival by offering a roulette event using the names of spaces within the video theme park and a mission event experience using a giant ghost Jenga. These efforts were highly recognized, leading to the top excellence award.
The Hapcheon Ghost Park Festival, which first opened in 2014 as the nation's first and largest horror festival, was successfully operated until 2019. After a long five-year break, it has been renewed with even more intense horror and will be held from the 29th until August 18th at Hapcheon Video Theme Park.
Kim Yooncheol, the county governor, said, "It is an honor to receive the top excellence award at this fair, which was attended by 191 local governments and organizations nationwide," and added, "We will continue to discover unique tourism content and infrastructure for Hapcheon County to revitalize the local tourism industry."
Meanwhile, the Korea International Tourism Fair, now in its 9th year, is hosted by the Korea International Tourism Fair Organizing Committee and organized by the Korea Exhibition Industry Institute. The event operated exhibition booths for domestic promotion halls, overseas tourism promotion halls, travel information halls, and more, providing various tourism activity experiences. It was held from the 19th to the 22nd to provide practical information necessary for the internationalization of tourism in Korean cities.
