Kim Dong-yeon "Prosecution is passing... Time to decide on Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok's position"
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon advised Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok that it is time to make a decision regarding his position.
On the 22nd, Governor Kim posted on his social media (SNS), expressing regret that "the 'suspect' Kim Geon-hee summoned the prosecution instead," and "the prosecution, which went on an 'expedition investigation' after being called by the suspect, only notified the Prosecutor General afterward."
He then questioned, "Since when has the prosecution of the Republic of Korea been an organization that bypasses the Prosecutor General and comes or goes whenever the suspect calls?" and criticized, "Aren't you ashamed in front of the people?"
In particular, he said, "I want to advise Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok that it is time to make a decision regarding his position," adding, "This advice comes from my experience of resigning from the position of Director of the Office for Government Policy Coordination during the Park Geun-hye administration."
