782-horsepower New Panamera PHEV, Launching in Korea Next Year
Porsche unveiled the top-tier models of its 4-door sedan Panamera, the Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS, on the 19th.
Both new models use the same 4.0ℓ biturbo V8 engine as the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. The new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid delivers a maximum engine output of 600 horsepower and an electric motor output of 190 horsepower. The system output is 782 horsepower, an increase of 102 horsepower from the previous model, and the system torque is 102 kg·m, up by 15.3 kg·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, shaving 0.5 seconds off the previous time. The top speed is 325 km/h.
It delivers the most powerful performance in the Panamera lineup. Porsche’s development driver recently set a new record by completing the N?rburgring Nordschleife course in 7 minutes 24.17 seconds. The company stated that it ranked as the fastest sedan equipped with an internal combustion or hybrid engine on the N?rburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG leaderboard. This broke the previous record by 5.64 seconds.
The electric driving range has been extended and charging time reduced compared to the previous model. Using a 25.9 kWh high-voltage battery, the energy storage capacity increased by 45%, allowing for a maximum electric-only range of 88 km (WLTP standard). Charging the battery from 0 to 100% takes 2 hours and 39 minutes (based on an 11 kW onboard AC charger).
The new Panamera GTS produces a maximum output of 500 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is 302 km/h. The standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) includes an improved dual-chamber 2-valve air suspension, while the body has been lowered and the anti-roll bars strengthened to enhance vehicle stability and reduce pitching and rolling overall.
Customer deliveries will begin in Germany this fall. It is scheduled to launch domestically in the first half of next year. The domestic prices are 339.6 million KRW for the Turbo S E-Hybrid and 252.8 million KRW for the GTS.
