Uniqlo Donates 10,000 AIRism Items to Socially Vulnerable Groups
Delivery of Cooling Functional Clothing for Summer Heatwave Preparedness
Fashion brand Uniqlo announced on the 16th that it has donated 10,000 pieces of AIRism, a cooling functional clothing, and 30 million KRW in cash to socially vulnerable groups through the Korea Association of Senior Welfare Centers and the Community Chest of Korea.
This donation aims to support the healthy summer of elderly living alone and basic livelihood security recipients who are vulnerable to heat waves and heat-related illnesses. Uniqlo donated 5,000 pieces of AIRism, its representative functional clothing, to 2,500 elderly living alone through the Korea Association of Senior Welfare Centers. In addition, 30 million KRW in cash was delivered to support summer cooling expenses for some elderly living alone who are experiencing economic difficulties. Through the Community Chest of Korea, 5,000 pieces of AIRism were delivered to 2,500 basic livelihood security recipients.

Uniqlo has been supporting the Korea Association of Senior Welfare Centers since 2014 and signed a formal sponsorship agreement in 2015. It has provided a total of 3.2 billion KRW worth of cash and goods to elderly living alone in need. Since 2014, Uniqlo has also supported the Community Chest of Korea with cash and goods worth 1.5 billion KRW to date.
