Yoon Appoints Kim Su-gyeong, Presidential Office Spokesperson, as Vice Minister of Unification

President Yoon Suk-yeol appointed Kim Soo-kyung, spokesperson of the Presidential Office, as the new Vice Minister of Unification on the 15th, Lee Do-woon, Chief of Public Relations, announced during a briefing that day.
The new Vice Minister Kim was born in 1976 and graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Linguistics. She has worked as a reporter for Dong-A Ilbo, a research fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification, a professor at Hanshin University, and a Unification Secretary at the Presidential Office, and is currently serving as the spokesperson of the Presidential Office.
The Presidential Office explained that as a spokesperson, she understands the government's philosophy better than anyone else, and as an academic expert who has focused on North Korean human rights and defectors research, as well as having accumulated policy experience as a Unification Secretary, she is the right candidate for the Vice Minister position.
