Trump Who Once Raised Fists Bleeding... Will Bullets Change His True Nature?
Major Revisions Planned for Biden's Speech Attack Phrases
Leaders Who 'Changed' After Surviving Assassination Attempts
Reagan, Thatcher, etc... Political Careers Completely Transformed
Former U.S. President Donald Trump, who narrowly escaped a crisis after being shot during a campaign event, has decided to showcase 'unity' leadership in his upcoming speech at the Republican National Convention. He plans to remove many of the phrases attacking President Joe Biden from the speech and instead appeal for American unity.
If this speech actually takes place, it would mark a departure from the image Trump has shown so far. Some speculate that his near-death experience may have changed his mindset.
American mainstream media outlets such as Axios and the Washington Examiner reported on the 15th (local time) that former President Trump has made significant revisions to his speech ahead of the Republican National Convention. The convention will be held in Wisconsin from today until the 18th, where Trump is expected to be officially nominated as the Republican presidential candidate.
However, the content and tone of the speech will change significantly. Axios and others reported that the original speech was supposed to include fierce criticism of President Biden. But most of those parts have now been revised, and instead, Trump will focus more on 'American unity.'
This approach contrasts with Trump's previous political style. In the first presidential debate against Biden, he was criticized by local media for divisive and deceptive remarks.
Some suggest that the 'near-death experience' may have matured Trump. There have been leaders who returned with a new outlook after narrowly escaping life-threatening situations.

View original imageThe most representative example is former President Ronald Reagan. Reagan was seriously wounded in an assassination attempt during a speech in 1981 and was rushed to the hospital. After a two-hour surgery, he barely survived. The bullet was lodged in his lung 12 cm away from his heart, which is said to have saved his life.
After this incident, Reagan's governing style changed completely. This change was especially noticeable in foreign policy. He reportedly became more passionate than ever about confronting communism and ending the threat of nuclear war.
Regarding this, ABC News explained, "After surviving the shooting, Reagan came to believe he was chosen by God," adding, "Just as he survived the bullet, he developed a strong belief that he could end the threats of nuclear war and the Cold War."
Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher also narrowly escaped death around the same time. In 1984, a time bomb exploded at the Grand Brighton Hotel in Brighton, England, where Thatcher was staying. The attack was attributed to the Irish Republican Army (IRA). Dozens of Conservative Party ministers died in the blast, but Thatcher attended the Conservative Party conference just hours later and delivered her prepared speech.

The speech reportedly did not change at all from the content planned before the attack. On the contrary, Thatcher said, "Although we are shocked, we are all gathered here with determination," and added, "The failure of this attack is also a signal that all attempts to destroy democracy through terrorism will fail."
However, Thatcher stepped back on one point. The original speech was supposed to include strong criticism of the then-opposition Labour Party. The initial draft planned to refer to Labour politicians as the "Enemy within." But in the actual speech, Thatcher omitted this part.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the Washington Examiner, former President Trump said, "The speech originally scheduled for Thursday would have been tremendous," but added, "If this incident (the shooting) hadn't happened, it would have been an amazing speech. But honestly, now it is a completely different speech."
