U.S. President Joe Biden spoke with former President Donald Trump, who was shot during a campaign event in Pennsylvania on the 13th (local time).

According to the Associated Press and other sources, a White House official stated, "President Biden spoke with former President Trump this evening."
The official added that President Biden is scheduled to receive further briefings from judicial authorities the following morning regarding the shooting incident involving former President Trump.
President Biden decided to return early to the White House from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he had been spending the weekend.
Earlier, former President Trump was shot while campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania. It was reported that the bullet passed through the upper part of his right ear.
The shooting suspect was confirmed to have been killed at the scene. One bystander watching the campaign event died, and two others were seriously injured. U.S. judicial authorities are investigating the incident as an attempted assassination.
