Musk Donates Political Funds to Trump... Bad News for Biden Amid 'Resignation Talk'

Donors Halt, Biden's Funding Dries Up
"World's Richest Man's Big Gamble" Evaluation
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, reportedly donated political funds to former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate in the U.S. presidential election, Bloomberg News reported on the 12th (local time).
Bloomberg cited an anonymous source on the same day, stating that Musk donated to Trump's relatively lesser-known political action committee, "America PAC," and although the exact amount is unclear, it is said to be a substantial sum.
America PAC is reportedly conducting voter outreach and get-out-the-vote activities focused on key battleground states that will determine the outcome of this election. America PAC is required to disclose its donor list on the 15th.
Musk's donation came at a time when former President Trump had surpassed Democratic presidential candidate President Joe Biden in political fundraising, aided by Wall Street and corporate donors.
This is a significant setback for President Biden, who has been plagued by calls to withdraw from the race following the first presidential debate last month, which exposed serious age-related risks. Prominent donors to Biden, who have recently been troubled by his health and cognitive decline, have been halting their contributions.
Bloomberg described Musk's donation as "a big gamble by the world's richest person to imprint himself on the American political landscape."

In March, Musk met with former President Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, sparking speculation that he would become a financial backer of Trump. Reports also emerged that the two discussed the possibility of Musk serving as an advisor if Trump were to return to the White House.
