Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends Pre-Education for 'Healing Refrigerator Operation' for Volunteer Disaster Prevention Group
On the 12th at 9 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, the mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 'Healing Refrigerator Operator Pre-Education' held in the small auditorium on the 6th floor of Nowon-gu Office.
Nowon-gu conducts the 'Healing Refrigerator' project every year as a representative heatwave countermeasure. This project, which started in 2020, has been benchmarked by local governments nationwide and is operated under various names. This year, from July to August, refrigerators will be installed at 14 outdoor heat relief spots such as walking trails and riversides to supply cool bottled water.
This training was conducted for the Nowon-gu Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group and each district's responsible personnel, covering ▲ the purpose and operation method of the Healing Refrigerator ▲ work rules to improve residents' satisfaction ▲ prevention of heat-related illnesses ▲ maintenance of the surrounding environment.
Last year, the Healing Refrigerator operated at 15 locations including riversides and walking trails for 32 days, providing more than 1.95 million bottles of water, averaging over 60,000 bottles per day, receiving great response from residents.
