Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Provides Guidelines for Actions in Preparation for Heavy Rainfall
Gwangju Seobu Fire Station urged compliance with safety guidelines on the 12th to prevent various safety accidents caused by typhoons, heavy rain, and flooding.
During the summer season (June to August), the average sea surface temperature in the coastal waters is on the rise, increasing the likelihood that typhoons will remain over the Korean Peninsula for longer periods, raising concerns about significant damage. Therefore, it emphasized the need to familiarize oneself with safety guidelines to prepare for typhoons, heavy rain, and flooding.
The safety guidelines for typhoon and heavy rain preparedness include ▲avoiding areas prone to frequent flooding and landslides and evacuating to safe locations ▲closing doors and windows and refraining from going out ▲frequently checking weather conditions ▲and avoiding approaching flood-prone areas such as riverbanks.
Safety guidelines for using underground spaces include ▲immediately evacuating if water enters semi-basement houses, underground stations, or if sewage backs up ▲prohibiting entry into underground parking lots when rainwater flows in ▲and evacuating immediately if even a small amount of water flows into underground stairs.
