Under the theme 'Knowing the Population Reveals the Future!', a professional instructor from the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association was invited to review the current population trends and situation in Gyeongnam and Yangsan, discuss the reality of population issues and the future they will bring, and provide in-depth education on responding to and improving awareness of the changes in a low birth rate and aging society.
Kang Jeongsuk, Director of the Women and Youth Division, stated, "Population issues such as low birth rates and an aging society are urgent problems of our time, directly linked to citizens' lives in areas such as the local economy, employment, housing, education, welfare, and the environment. Therefore, it is very important for public officials, who directly implement city administration, to enhance their understanding of population policies," adding, "I hope this training will lead to improved awareness of population policies among public officials, serving as an opportunity to incorporate population issues into all policies and create various development initiatives."
Yangsan City plans to actively promote various awareness improvement projects in the second half of the year, not only for public officials but also for citizens and students, such as 'Visiting Population Education,' the 'Yangsan City Population Policy Citizen Idea Contest' to find solutions to population issues together with citizens, and events by organizations encouraging childbirth. These efforts aim to raise awareness of the seriousness of low birth rate and aging society issues and to foster public consensus for actively addressing population problems.
