Support for Selection of Outstanding International Students, Strengthening Linkage with Glocal30 International Exchange
On the 11th, Tongmyong University signed an agreement with the Center for International Education and Development (CIED) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training to strengthen cooperation in supporting settlement for Vietnamese outstanding students selected for ICT-related majors and employment in Korea after graduation.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training will recommend students from Vietnamese specialized high schools and those within the top 5% of high school GPAs as scholarship recipients for ICT-related majors at Busan International College of Tongmyong University.
Tongmyong University will operate a settlement support program for these students, nurturing them as local talents through the Busan Regional Specialization Project (F-2-R) after graduation.
In particular, Tongmyong University plans to successfully promote the government's 2024 Glocal30 Project, aiming to establish a virtuous cycle of attracting outstanding international students and fostering regional settlement through this initiative.
At the signing ceremony, President Jeon Ho-hwan stated, "To overcome the rapid decline in the school-age population, we will move beyond simply accepting laborers and create an opportunity to lead a healthy multicultural society through a settlement support program that attracts outstanding international students. This will become a successful case of Korean universities nurturing foreigners as regionally customized talents."
