167 Houses Flooded in Jeonbuk Due to Heavy Rain... 258 Residents Unable to Return Home
Due to heavy rainfall, about 100 houses in the Jeonbuk region have been flooded, and around 300 residents have been unable to return home.

According to Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province on the 11th, as of 5 p.m. that day, the damage from the rain included 167 cases of house flooding, 1 case of partial house collapse, and 1,039 hectares of flooded crops.
The number of reported house flooding cases, which was 99 in the morning, increased significantly in the afternoon, and about 30 more hectares of crops were flooded.
The number of livestock deaths (chickens, cattle, ducks, etc.) was initially reported to Jeonbuk Province as 133,650, but the cities and counties corrected it to 115,330.
Public facility damages include 9 cases of river embankment collapse, 14 cases of soil erosion, 8 cases of mountain area collapse, 4 cases of road slope collapse, 2 cases of road collapse, 2 cases of reservoir slope collapse, and 2 cases of bridge pier collapse.
Damage was concentrated in Wanju and Gunsan, with reports of damage also coming in from Jinan, Iksan, and Muju.
The number of evacuees was counted as 385 residents from four cities and counties: Gunsan, Iksan, Wanju, and Jinan. Of these, 127 have returned home, while 258 are still residing in temporary facilities.
Jeonbuk Province lifted the Emergency Level 1 of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters that morning and began emergency recovery efforts with the cities and counties.
The cities and counties will conduct damage surveys and enter the data into the National Disaster Management System (NDMS), and later establish formal recovery plans.
The damage survey period for public facilities is until the 17th, and for private facilities until the 20th; the period may be extended if more rain falls.
Currently, Wanju County has entered damage status amounting to 850 million won into the NDMS.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it will first conduct a preliminary investigation for the declaration of a special disaster area in Wanju and Iksan, according to the province.
