Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Holds 11th Job Matching Day for Recruitment and Employment
6 Million Won Support for One-Year Service in Shipbuilding and Equipment Industries
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Yang Jaesaeng) held the 11th Job Matching Day on the 11th at the Chamber Hall, matching local companies with professional technical personnel.
Seventeen companies from manufacturing industries such as shipbuilding and equipment, which are suffering from chronic labor shortages, and software development participated in Job Matching Day. They conducted interviews for various positions, including production management, mechanical design, and web development, to hire 33 people.
At the on-site interviews, nine recruiting companies and 33 job seekers participated, conducting multiple interviews. The remaining eight companies, which could not attend in person, are conducting interviews through online matching.
Of the nine participating companies, nearly half?four companies?are in the shipbuilding and equipment sector. This seems to reflect the current situation in which, despite the recent boom and increased orders in the shipbuilding industry, companies are experiencing labor shortages due to a reluctance to work in manufacturing.
Lee Hanjin, Deputy General Manager at Marsen Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of ship measurement sensors and an interviewer at the event, said, "We have been consistently participating in Matching Day since 2022. Even though it is difficult to recruit for the shipbuilding and equipment industry, we are very satisfied because we can meet job seekers who are graduates of various vocational schools in one place."

A representative from the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, "In the second half of this year, we will regularly hold Matching Day events by surveying the demand for technical trainees from vocational schools to support recruiting companies. In particular, for industries with severe workforce supply and demand issues, such as shipbuilding and equipment, we will actively support employment stability in Busan's key industries by linking with government job programs that provide asset formation support of 6 million won for one year upon employment."
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting the 11th Job Matching Day for job seekers and employers.
