Four police traffic investigators questioned Mr. Cha in his hospital room for about four hours in the presence of his attorney.

During the first investigation on the 4th, he also claimed sudden unintended acceleration, stating, "I pressed the brake at the time of the accident, but it felt hard." He testified that he was unaware that going straight and turning left were prohibited near Sejong-daero 18-gil, where the accident occurred.
Mr. Cha is currently hospitalized after surgery for fractured ribs caused by the impact of the accident. Some of his ribs pierced his lungs, causing blood accumulation, and he was diagnosed with an 8-week recovery period.
