Yeongju City is holding a promotional event from the 5th to the 7th at the Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Seongnam branch to secure sales channels for Mangoring, a new income-generating fruit crop, and to carry out extensive promotional activities.
This event was organized to raise awareness of Mangoring produced in Yeongju and to introduce its taste to target consumers in the Seoul metropolitan area.
On the 5th, the Yeongju Plumcot Development Research Association and Yeongju City Nonghyup Cooperative Business Corporation, which produce Mangoring, participated at Hanaro Mart Seongnam branch to promote the Mangoring brand and offer tasting events, highlighting its flavor and aroma.
Mangoring is a brand independently developed by Yeongju City to evoke the yellow color and round image of the Symphony variety of plumcot. Mangoring is a seasonal summer fruit that offers the tartness of plum before ripening and the sweetness of apricot after ripening.
As fresh fruit, Mangoring cannot be stored for long, so it can only be enjoyed for about a month after harvesting in July. It is characterized by its abundant juice. In addition, Mangoring is a fruit that combines the advantages of both plums and apricots, is rich in dietary fiber which helps with constipation, and contains vitamin C and beta-carotene, which are known to help prevent skin aging.
On this day, consumers who visited Hanaro Mart Seongnam showed interest in the unfamiliar Mangoring. In particular, younger customers were curious about the taste and repeatedly visited the tasting corner.
One consumer said, "It's my first time hearing about Mangoring and that it is grown in Yeongju. It tastes like plum, apricot, and even peach, so it's fascinating and delicious with a sweet and tangy flavor."
