[Polpol News] President Yoon's Approval Rating Stays in Low to Mid 20% for Three Months... Gallup Reports 1%p Increase to 26%
People Power Party 31%, Democratic Party 29%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration has remained in the mid-20% range for three months since the general election. In party support, the People Power Party's approval rating improved, while the Democratic Party's rating declined.
According to a regular public opinion poll conducted by Gallup from the 2nd to the 4th (surveying 1,002 people aged 18 and over via wireless phone interviews), President Yoon's approval rating rose by 1 percentage point from the previous week to 26%. The disapproval rating fell by 2 percentage points to 64%.
President Yoon's approval rating fluctuated between the mid-30% and late-30% range before the April 10 general election, but dropped to the 20% range afterward and has since hovered in the low to mid-20% range.
In the party support survey, the People Power Party's approval rating increased by 2 percentage points to 33%, while the Democratic Party's rating decreased by 3 percentage points to 29%. The Joguk Innovation Party and the Reform Innovation Party were rated at 9% and 4%, respectively.
In the preferred future political leader survey for the next presidential candidate, former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung received 23%, People Power Party leadership candidate Han Dong-hoon 17%, and former Joguk Innovation Party leader Jo Guk 5%. Following them were Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon at 3% each, Reform Innovation Party lawmaker Lee Jun-seok and People Power Party leadership candidate Won Hee-ryong at 2% each, and People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo at 1%.
