[Breaking] 60-Year-Old Man Sentenced to 15 Years in First Trial for 'Lee Jae-myung Assault Act'
Kim Mo (67), who was indicted on charges of stabbing former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung with a weapon, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the first trial.
The Criminal Division 6 of the Busan District Court (Chief Judge Kim Yong-gyun) delivered the sentence at the hearing held on the 5th.
Previously, the prosecution had requested a 20-year prison sentence for Kim.

Kim was indicted for attempting to murder (attempted murder) former leader Lee by stabbing his neck with a weapon after approaching him at the observatory following a visit to the site of the new airport in Gadukdo, Gangseo-gu, Busan on January 2, and for obstructing the freedom of election (violation of the Public Official Election Act), among other charges.
