Gijang Library, Journey to Find Wisdom of Life Until the End of October
Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on the 4th that it will operate the advanced humanities program "Wisdom School" at Gijang Library until October.
The "Library Wisdom School" is a humanities program organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and co-hosted by the Arts Council Korea and the Korean Library Association.
This program offers a university-level advanced curriculum that allows participants to gain wisdom for life through in-depth exploration of humanities topics.
The program will begin its first lecture on the 11th and will run every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. until October 31, for a total of 15 sessions. Under the theme "Wisdom to Understand the Region through Literature and Art," Professor Oh Hyunseok from the Department of Korean Language Education at Pusan National University will lead the lectures.
The lectures will cover unique literature and art containing the narratives of various regions, from the Nakdong River to Jirisan, providing an opportunity to deeply understand these areas.
An official from Gijang-gun said, "We hope that this program will serve as an opportunity to reflect once again on the meaning and value of regional humanities by exploring local literature and artworks that embody the lives and spirit of local residents."
