Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dongseop) received the Excellence Award at the Process Safety Management (PSM) Best Practices Presentation, held by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency during the 2024 International Safety and Health Exhibition.
The PSM Best Practices Presentation, hosted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, selects exemplary workplaces from each region. The top prize is awarded by the Minister of Employment and Labor, while the Grand Prize and Excellence Award are presented by the President of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. The Geoje Branch of Korea National Oil Corporation was selected as the representative for Gyeongnam after passing the document review and on-site inspection, outperforming other leading workplaces in the Ulsan Petrochemical Complex in Gyeongnam.
The Geoje Branch of Korea National Oil Corporation participated as the exemplary workplace representing Gyeongnam and gave a presentation on the topic, "Enhancing the Highest 'Value' of Safety: Case Studies on Establishing a Safety Culture Based on Process Safety Management Operations and Improvements." The accumulated know-how of Korea National Oil Corporation in managing safety culture was widely recognized through this event.
The exemplary practices presented by the Geoje Branch are expected to be highly effective in upgrading the level of process safety management and reducing risk factors when applied to other workplaces.
This year, Korea National Oil Corporation reorganized its safety-dedicated team to report directly to the president, prioritizing safety management above all else.
