Song Yong-su, Director of the Climate and Environment Bureau of Gwangju Metropolitan City, who has actively resolved inconveniences and consistently worked to improve residents' welfare for 20 years, received a plaque of appreciation from the residents.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 2nd, residents around the Yanggwa-dong Regional Sanitary Landfill in Nam-gu, a representative environmental facility in the area, presented the plaque of appreciation to Director Song the day before.

As the head of the Resource Facility Team, Director Song actively accepted the inconveniences and demands of residents in the landfill's surrounding impact area and worked for nearly 20 years to resolve residents' difficulties for the smooth operation of the landfill and the improvement of residents' welfare in the surrounding impact area.
Now undergoing retirement preparation training, Director Song said, “Thanks to the cooperation of local residents and fellow public officials, I was able to spend a long public service career meaningfully,” and added, “Receiving this plaque of appreciation is more than I deserve.”
