Gwangju Social Welfare Community Chest Supports 3,960 Households Vulnerable to Heatwaves
The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea announced on the 2nd that it has provided 300 million KRW in cooling expenses to 3,960 households vulnerable to heatwaves during the peak summer heat.
The handover ceremony held by the Seo-gu Community Security Council was attended by Park Heung-cheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, Kim Cheon-su, Chairman of the Seo-gu Community Security Council, and related officials.
This cooling expense support for heatwave-vulnerable groups is part of the "2024 Planned Cooling Expense Support Project." The recipients were selected through recommendations from the five district offices of Gwangju Metropolitan City, and according to each district's own plan for cash and goods, support funds of at least 50,000 KRW per household will be provided.
