View original imageIt is the dream of every tour golfer. Cam Davis has reached the top of the PGA Tour. He made it happen based on outstanding distance and forgiveness. On the 30th of last month (local time), at the Rocket Mortgage Classic (total prize money $9.2 million) held at Detroit Golf Club (par 72, 7,370 yards) in Detroit, Michigan, USA, he secured a one-stroke victory. Since his first career win at the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic, he has now claimed his second victory at this tournament. The winner’s prize money was $1.65 million (approximately 2.3 billion KRW).
Davis stood out with his precise tee shots and ‘needle-like iron shots.’ He used the full Titleist line. His driver and fairway woods were Titleist TSR3, and his irons were Titleist T100 and Titleist 620 CB. His wedges were Titleist Vokey Design SM10 and Vokey Design Wedge Works. He also used Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.
In particular, the Titleist TSR3 is a new weapon that combines both distance and forgiveness. It improves fairway hit rates. It is the best product for increasing ball speed and swing speed. It is also a club less affected by wind. Davis showcased perfect tee shots and iron shots during this tournament. Over four days, he achieved a fairway hit rate of 76.79% (tied 7th) and a greens in regulation rate of 79.17% (tied 20th). This was the driving force behind his tournament-high 23 birdies.
