'Rhyme Incident' Kim Bong-hyun and Lee Kang-se sentenced to 8 months in prison
The prosecution has sought prison sentences for former Star Mobility Chairman Kim Bong-hyun (50) and former Star Mobility CEO Lee Kang-se (62), who are accused of delivering illegal political funds to current and former politicians.
On the 27th, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office announced that it requested an 8-month prison sentence during the trial for Kim and Lee on charges of violating the Political Funds Act, held on the 17th before Judge Seo Young-woo of the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Division 12.
According to the prosecution, Kim and Lee are accused of providing a total of approximately 160 million won in political funds around 2016 to four individuals: former Democratic Party lawmaker Ki Dong-min, Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Soo-jin, former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Young-choon, and former Democratic Party preliminary candidate Kim Gap-soo.

Meanwhile, Ki Dong-min, Lee Soo-jin, and others are currently on trial at the Seoul Southern District Court for allegedly receiving illegal political funds from Kim Bong-hyun.
