Gangnam-gu Supports Startups to Participate in 'CES 2025' by Discovering New Ventures
Recruiting 10 Startups Until the 17th of Next Month
Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is recruiting 10 Gangnam-gu startups to participate in the 'International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025' to be held in the United States next January until the 17th of next month.
The eligible applicants are venture companies possessing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), bio, mobility, and healthcare. They must have their headquarters, branches, or research institutes in Gangnam-gu and be within 7 years of establishment.
Ten companies will be selected by evaluating both corporate and product capabilities, and 10 preliminary candidates will also be chosen. Selected companies will receive support including ▲entry into Eureka Park, the global startup exhibition stage of CES ▲consulting for participation in the CES Innovation Awards ▲exhibition booth installation ▲business matching and exhibition marketing training ▲one-on-one local interpretation services. Companies wishing to participate can check the announcement on the district office website and submit application documents via email.
CES, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States, is the world's largest IT exhibition where the latest technology trends and visions of major companies can be seen. The CES held last January prominently showcased the activities of Korean venture and startup companies equipped with new AI technology. Among the 310 companies that won the CES Innovation Awards, 143 (46%) were Korean companies, of which 116 were venture and startup companies.
To support overseas market expansion of such promising startups, the district plans to support local startups' participation in CES to be held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 7 to 10 next year.
Gangnam-gu, known as Korea's Silicon Valley with 2,613 venture companies concentrated, aims to discover startups with technological capabilities but difficulty participating in exhibitions alone and actively support their participation in the Seoul Integrated Pavilion (Gangnam Pavilion) at CES.
