Foreign Expert Advisory Council - Joint Patrol with Foreigners' Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit
The Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency (Chief Park Jeong-bo) announced on the 26th that a joint patrol was conducted on the afternoon of the 25th in the foreigner-dense area of Yongang-ri, Samho-eup, Yeongam-gun.
About 70 people participated in this patrol, including the Provincial Police Agency Foreign Affairs Advisory Council, Yeongam Foreigners' Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit, Yeongam Police Station, and the Mobile Patrol Unit.
The patrol covered areas frequently used by foreigners such as commercial districts, foreigner-only entertainment bars, and neighborhoods with a high concentration of one-room apartments where many foreigners reside, focusing on crime prevention and promoting compliance with laws and regulations.
The joint patrol by the Foreign Affairs Advisory Council and the Foreigners' Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit aims to visibly patrol foreigner-dense areas to preemptively deter criminal activity, and a preliminary meeting was also held to protect the human rights of foreigners.
Park Jeong-bo, Chief of the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency, stated, “We will continue to do our best to protect the daily lives of residents through community policing activities in partnership with security partners such as the Foreign Affairs Advisory Council.”
Yoo In-sook, Chairperson of the Provincial Police Agency Foreign Affairs Advisory Council, said, “We hope that the joint patrol will protect the safety of both foreigners and locals and serve as an opportunity for harmonious coexistence without conflicts.”
