Based on the results, the center provided personalized training on blood pressure measurement, education on exercise habits, dietary management including low-sodium diets, and other management methods with the assistance of a team of experts such as nurses, exercise prescription specialists, and nutritionists.
In addition, together with public health doctors, participants learned about proper medication administration and how to recognize and respond to symptoms of stroke and myocardial infarction, which are complications of hypertension. There was also a Q&A session for further in-depth discussion.
The health center plans to run the hypertension self-management program twice this year, dividing it into the first and second halves of the year.
Gong Jaeyong, head of the Health Promotion Division, stated, "We hope that by learning how to manage their conditions based on a better understanding of their chronic diseases, patients can lead healthier and more energetic lives in their daily routines."
