Court Dismisses Lee Hoguk's Request to Suspend Dismissal from Former Changwon Leports Park Chairman Position
Dismissal of Former Chairman Lee Remains Effective
Former Changwon Leports Park director Lee Hoguk's request for a stay of execution against his dismissal by Changwon City has been rejected by the court. As a result, the dismissal remains in effect.
The Changwon District Court stated in its decision on the 25th, "It is difficult to recognize that there is a risk of irreparable harm to the applicant due to the dismissal, or that there is an urgent need to suspend the effect of the dismissal to prevent such harm."
Lee, the former director, filed both a request for a stay of execution and a cancellation lawsuit regarding the dismissal on the 27th of last month. The final decision on the dismissal will be determined through the main lawsuit.
An official from Changwon City commented on the court's decision, "This is a natural outcome. We will promptly proceed with the appointment process for a new director in consultation with Gyeongsangnam-do and strive to normalize the management of Changwon Leports Park."
Meanwhile, the city launched an audit on the former director in October last year after the Changwon City Council raised the need for disciplinary oversight of affiliated institution heads. As a result of the audit, the city found grounds for legal violations and referred the case to the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office in November.
Subsequently, in the same month, the former director was suspended from duty. In February of this year, the board of the corporation passed a resolution to dismiss him for violating executive service regulations, and after consulting with Gyeongsangnam-do, the dismissal was finalized on March 18.
