Hapcheon County Focuses on Preventing Safety Accidents at Children's Water Play Facilities in Tourist Attractions
Safety Inspection and Precautions for Water Play Facilities at Tripitaka Koreana Theme Park and Others, with Emphasis for Operators
Hapcheon County, Gyeongnam, announced on the 26th that it has conducted a comprehensive inspection of the operational readiness of children’s water play facilities at tourist attractions, which are scheduled to open simultaneously on July 2, to ensure safety.
Yoo Seongkyung, Head of the Tourism Promotion Division, visited the children's water play areas at Hapcheon Daejanggyeong Theme Park and Hapcheonho Hoeyang Tourist Site to inspect the water play combination playground equipment, the condition of the elastic flooring, safety guidance banners, and the water spray system to prevent burns from the floor. She also urged thorough preparation for safety management. Additionally, she requested that on-site staff provide kind guidance to visitors to prevent any inconvenience.

View original imageThe county will conduct daily self-inspections of chlorine residuals for water quality testing at least once a day. To prevent incidents such as vomiting accidents, the play facilities will operate on a schedule of 50 minutes of use followed by a 10-minute break. The county also plans to thoroughly inspect the advance reservation system to prevent overcrowding at specific times and ensure safety.
Meanwhile, the outdoor water play areas at Hapcheon Daejanggyeong Theme Park and Hapcheonho Hoeyang Tourist Site will be open from July 2 to August 31, and will be closed on Mondays for facility inspections and cleaning.
The operating hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM. In particular, the water play area at Daejanggyeong Theme Park will implement an advance reservation system starting this year to ensure pleasant water quality management and user safety. Information on advance reservations and closures due to rain can be found on the Daejanggyeong Theme Park website.
Meanwhile, the water play area, ground fountain, and stream facilities at Jeongyang Leisure Sports Park will also be open from July 1 to September 29.
