AmCham Explores Mobility Future with US Testing Certification Company UL Solutions
'2024 AmCham Automotive Summit' Held... Exploring Innovation Strategies
The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) announced on the 25th that it held the '2024 AMCHAM Automotive Summit' at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

View original imageAMCHAM explained that the event was held to provide insights into the impact of sustainability initiatives on the automotive and mobility industries through collaboration with global testing and certification specialist UL Solutions and General Motors (GM).
The event was held under the theme "Future Mobility Technology: Safety, Security, Sustainability." It explored how management pursuing sustainability?from innovative product development to sustainable product manufacturing, from sustainable revenue generation to enhancing customer satisfaction?is driving changes in the automotive industry and promoting long-term success.
James Kim, Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM, said in his opening remarks, "Sustainability is at the core of the Korea-US alliance," adding, "The partnership between AMCHAM and UL Solutions is a testament to the belief in collaboration and innovation that empowers automotive-related companies to achieve sustainable goals."
Jennifer Scanlon, Global Chairperson and CEO of UL Solutions, stated, "We are not only prospering together but also creating a safer, more secure, and more sustainable future."
Park Dong-il, Director of Manufacturing Industry Policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, "The two countries have been blood allies for over 70 years, and I hope this forum will lead to productive discussions on key future mobility issues."
Jay Vix, Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Korea, said, "With the continuous efforts of AMCHAM and UL Solutions, the sustainability initiatives of both countries will successfully transform the industrial landscape in the future."
Terry Alzer, Vice President of Applied Research and Development at UL Solutions, delivered the keynote speech on "The Impact of Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality Goals on the Automotive Industry." Vice President Alzer said, "Safe innovation is not only essential for the success of the automotive industry but also the key to achieving the goal of 'decarbonization.'"
