Aging Public Senior Centers → Creating a Comfortable Environment through Energy Saving and Environmental Improvement
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has been selected for the Old Senior Center Green Remodeling contest project organized by the National Land Safety Management Institute under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. This project aims to improve the energy efficiency of senior centers in the area and transform them into eco-friendly spaces.
The Senior Center Green Remodeling project targets old public senior centers that have been completed for more than 10 years, aiming to create a comfortable environment by reducing energy consumption and improving the environment.
With this selection, Gwangjin-gu will receive 690 million KRW in project funds to remodel four senior centers.
This year's target sites are Jangsu (Junggok 2-dong), Soneung (Guui 2-dong), Guui Saemaeul (Guui 3-dong), and Noyusan (Jayang 4-dong) senior centers. Construction is scheduled to start in September this year and be completed next year.
The selected senior centers will undergo energy performance improvement works including ▲internal and external insulation ▲floor heating ▲high-efficiency windows ▲replacement of heating and cooling systems ▲heat recovery ventilation systems, along with the installation of eco-friendly facilities.
Through this, it is planned to support the elderly to live in safer and more comfortable environments.
