Democratic Party Appoints 13 Regional Heads in North Gyeongsang... Including Oh Joongki, Kim Sangwoo, and Kim Cheolho
The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 24th that it has approved the appointments of 10 local committee chairs at the recent Party Affairs Committee meeting: Oh Junggi (former Senior Administrator at the Presidential Office) for Pohang Buk-gu, Park Heejung (Pohang City Council member) for Pohang Nam-Ulleung, Kim Sangwoo (professor at Andong National University) for Andong-Yecheon, Kim Cheolho (former Chairman of Gumi YMCA) for Gumi Gap, Park Gyuhwan (former visiting professor at Soongsil University) for Yeongju-Yeongyang-Bonghwa, Lee Youngsoo (former Policy Director of the Korean Peasants League) for Yeongcheon-Cheongdo, Jung Seokwon (adjunct professor at Silla University) for Goryeong-Seongju-Chilgok, Hwang Taeseong (former Gumi local committee chair) for Gimcheon, Lee Yunhee (former Senior Vice Chair of the Democratic Party's North Gyeongsang Provincial Party) for Sangju-Mungyeong, and Kim Kihyun (Youth Committee Chair of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Party) for Gyeongsan.
The North Gyeongsang Provincial Party of the Democratic Party also stated that Han Youngtae (former Gyeongju City Council member), who won the recent primary for the Gyeongju local committee on the 14th, has been approved as chair. Additionally, Lee Jiyeon (Gumi City Council member) and Lim Mi-ae (National Assembly member) were approved as chairs for Gumi Eul and Uiseong-Cheongsong-Yeongdeok-Uljin, respectively, at the 266th Supreme Council meeting held on the 21st. With these appointments, all 13 local committee chairs in North Gyeongsang Province have now been finalized.
Meanwhile, after completing all regional delegates' conferences, the Democratic Party's North Gyeongsang local committee plans to elect the new North Gyeongsang Provincial Party Chair, the party leader, and other key leadership positions at the provincial reorganization convention on July 21 and the national party members' convention on August 18.
