Chosun University Signs MOU with Sinan Marine Science High School for Fostering Creative Talent
The Marine Biology Research and Education Center at Chosun University (Director Lee Junsik) and the Marine Healthcare Efficacy Verification Center (Director Lee Sukyoung) have signed a mutual agreement with Shinan Marine Science High School (Principal Lee Saengok) to foster creative talent in the marine bio sector.
On the 19th, at the Chosun University Marine Biology Research and Education Center in Wando, a delegation from Shinan Marine Science High School visited the site to sign an "Educational Cooperation Agreement for Talent Development" and toured the laboratories, experimental equipment systems, and lecture rooms necessary for future detailed educational program discussions and practical training.
The Chosun University Marine Biology Research and Education Center, established in 2007 in Sinji-myeon, Wando, Jeonnam, operates the Korea Fisheries Venture University to train marine and fisheries experts. In 2021, it additionally hosted the Marine Healthcare Center and is promoting the marine bio and marine healing industries in collaboration with Wando County. It also runs specialized marine bio practical training programs for students of Wando Fisheries High School and organizes camps for children at local community centers.
Shinan Marine Science High School, a specialized fisheries and marine high school located in Aphaedo, Shinan-gun, Jeonnam, operates the Self-Employment Fisheries Department (Fisheries Aquaculture & Leisure Course, Fisheries Processing & Cooking Course) and is preparing to reorganize the department into a Smart Self-Employment Fisheries Department (Marine Bio Production, Marine Bio Food) by 2025 to foster new industries in marine bio.

Lee Junsik, Director of the Chosun University Marine Biology Research and Education Center, said, "I hope that the young talents of Shinan Marine Science High School, who will lead the next generation of marine fisheries, will have the opportunity to explore career paths in marine specialized fields through the marine bio practical training courses."
