Songpa-gu 'Visiting Safety Education for Vulnerable Groups'
Customized Safety Education for Users Until August... Practical Training and Case-Based Accident Prevention and Response Methods Introduced by Safety Experts Visiting Welfare Facilities on Daily Life, Fire, Traffic, Crime, Disaster, and First Aid
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will conduct 'Visiting Safety Education' targeting safety-vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and multicultural families who are vulnerable to disasters and safety accidents until August.
From June to August, when outdoor activities increase, safety accidents occur most frequently. The district is focusing on intensive education aimed at improving the crisis response capabilities of safety-vulnerable groups during the summer season. It vividly teaches safety accident prevention tips in daily life and how to respond in emergencies through practical exercises and case studies.
In particular, among various educational courses such as daily safety, fire safety, traffic safety, crime safety, disaster safety, and first aid education, each welfare facility can directly select specific classes in a 'demand-tailored' manner.
Children, the elderly, people with disabilities, foreigners, and other welfare recipients differ in vulnerabilities depending on the facility. Considering the safety vulnerabilities identified in the welfare field, the district expects that when facilities take the lead in applying for courses, educational efficiency will increase and budget waste will decrease.
In fact, last year, customized classes were conducted for a total of 761 people at 57 welfare institutions, receiving favorable reviews for allowing participants to choose the classes they needed. Last year, disability facilities with many indoor activities requested fire safety education, and childcare facilities requested traffic safety education useful during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Also, considering the convenience of learners who are mostly mobility-impaired, the district arranged for instructors to visit welfare facilities directly to conduct lectures. This is a measure to improve educational accessibility for those who find it difficult to visit education centers in person.
As instructors, life and disaster safety experts belonging to safety specialized education institutions are invited to provide differentiated education tailored to the level of children, people with disabilities, and other learners, helping everyone easily check safety in daily life.
