Lowering the Barrier for Safety Education... Hyundai Wia Opens Experiential Center
Completion of Citizen-Accessible Safety Education Facility
Hyundai Wia announced that it opened the experiential safety education center S Plus (+) on the 19th.
Anyone can visit and receive training by applying in advance. The facility was created by utilizing a space previously used as a cafeteria within the existing workplace. According to the company, S+ signifies adding safety to daily life, serving as a communication space for coexistence with the local community, and a research and development space based on experiential learning to establish a safety culture.
Leveraging the characteristics of manufacturing, visitors can receive specialized experiential training focused on industrial safety. Considering the recent increase in automation lines and robot usage in manufacturing sites, separate training related to this was prepared. Industrial robot safety training informs that safe guards and entry routes are crucial when robot arms operate within conveyor belts. In automation line safety training, participants can experience the risk of entrapment that may occur when using machines with V-belts and rollers.

Using a safety harness fall simulator, safety education on accidents that can occur at construction sites is also available. Training includes securing safety hooks in situations such as guardrails falling or falling into openings, as well as ladder training. It is also possible to indirectly experience 10 major accidents likely to occur in industrial sites through virtual reality (VR) equipment. First aid practice, fire suppression, and emergency evacuation experiences are also taught.
