View original imageOn the 17th, Lee Jang-woo, Mayor of Daejeon, met with Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, at the Daejeon Station area site to request the prompt advancement of projects related to the station area.
According to the city on the 17th, the current projects planned or underway in the Daejeon station area include △Soje District Residential Environment Improvement Project △Public Housing District Development Project (Shantytown) △Mega Chungcheong Square Development Project △Future-type Transfer Center Construction Project △Urban Convergence Special Zone Development Project.
At the on-site briefing, Mayor Lee emphasized the need for speedy progress in the residential environment improvement and maintenance project and stressed the necessity of active national funding support for the urban convergence special zone development project and the future-type transfer center construction project.
He also urged representatives from Korea Land and Housing Corporation and Korea Railroad Corporation, who attended together, saying, “The Daejeon station area will be the starting point of the Chungcheong region megacity and the epicenter of urban space innovation,” and requested, “We ask the government and public enterprises to actively participate in the key projects of the Daejeon station area.”
