Mokpo Police Station, Foreign Volunteer Security Team Patrols with Local Residents
Joint Night Patrol Conducted Mainly Around Jukgyo-dong Area
Mokpo Police Station (Chief Kim Beomsang) announced on the 17th that it recently conducted a joint night patrol focusing on the Jukgyo-dong area as part of crime prevention activities for foreigners and community policing involving local residents.
The joint patrol involved about 40 members from cooperative organizations such as the Mokpo Police Station Foreigners' Security Volunteer Group, launched on the 16th of last month, and the Citizens' Police Association. They were divided into two teams and carried out foot patrols around Jukgyo-dong, including Yudal Amusement Park, Shinan Beach Hotel, Korea Maritime University, and Fishermen's Hill, to prevent crimes against foreigners.
As part of crime prevention for foreigners and community policing activities with local residents, a joint night patrol was conducted focusing on the Jukgyo-dong area.

The Foreigners' Security Volunteer Group consists of 14 members, mainly marriage migrant women from Vietnam and China, and conducts joint patrols once a month with cooperative organizations such as autonomous crime prevention squads to create a safe community free from crime.
Kim Beomsang, Chief of Mokpo Police Station, expressed gratitude for the active participation of the Foreigners' Security Volunteer Group and the Citizens' Police Association in this activity, stating, "We will provide opportunities for residents to actively participate and communicate, and do our best to prevent crime."
