Gurye-gun 'Romantic Concert 5080' Performance

A Filial Piety (孝) Concert to Create Happy Memories for the Elderly

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the ‘2024 Romantic Concert 5080’ Filial Piety (孝) Performance for the elderly will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, June 19, at the Gurye Indoor Gymnasium.

This performance is hosted by the Korea Entertainers One Heart Association (President Kim Sang-hee) to evoke nostalgia and bring happy memories to the elderly. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Creative Content Agency, and Gurye-gun, with support from the Jaegyeong Gurye-gun Chil-ohoe.

Admission is free, and prior to the main performance, a pre-show featuring singers from Gurye will begin at 2:20 PM.

The MC for the event is Kim Jong-seok, a native of Gurye. Performers include top singers and music bands who dominated the 70s and 80s, such as Kim Sang-hee, who sang “The Road Where Cosmos Bloom,” Kim Sang-bae, who sang “A Few Meters Ahead,” Seo Ju-kyung of “Bold Woman,” Kang Min-joo of “Hoeryongpo,” and Hyun Dang of “Jeong Hana Jun Geot.”

Additionally, the Gurye County Singers Association, composed of singers from Gurye, has prepared a variety of performances. The Jaegyeong Gurye-gun Chil-ohoe (President Park Hong-yeol), following their volunteer work for flood recovery in Gurye in 2020, collaborated with the Korea Entertainers One Heart Association to greatly support the hosting of this romantic concert for the elderly and residents of their hometown Gurye.

County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “This performance has been prepared for the elderly who have been busy and exhausted from farming work. I hope everyone will sing along, dance, and have a happy time reminiscing about old memories.”
