Ganghwa Peace Observatory and Yeonpyeongdo Peace Ecotour, etc.
A travel package that allows visitors to revisit the meaning of peace and security by touring the site of the Incheon Landing Operation, which changed the course of the Korean War, and the border areas has been launched.
Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization announced on the 14th that they have partnered with private travel agencies to launch nine peace and security tourism products. Earlier, the city held a contest for travel products based on three main themes (Incheon Landing Operation, Ganghwa area, Ongjin area), selecting five travel agencies and developing nine diverse themed products.
The products themed around the Incheon Landing Operation include the MacArthur Three Islands Tour, Incheon Landing Operation Mission Trip, Palmi Island Cruise & Chinatown Package, Peace and Security Detective Group, and Palmi Island Peace Tourism.
The MacArthur Three Islands Tour is a 2-day, 1-night course that visits key battle sites from the Incheon Landing Operation in September 1950, including Wolmido, Palmi Island (by cruise), and Songdo. Visitors can enjoy vivid storytelling by a guide portraying General MacArthur and receive souvenirs upon completing missions at the three landing points.
The Incheon Landing Operation Mission Trip is a product where participants complete five missions while touring related sites within 6 hours and 25 minutes. The Peace and Security Detective Group is an interactive smartphone-based tour that follows the story of a war correspondent character, offering peace and security education missions around Wolmido and the Open Port area.
Additionally, the Ganghwa area has launched new tourism products featuring the new attractions 'Hwage Garden' and 'Peace Observatory' on the peaceful island of Gyodongdo. The Ongjin area offers three products: Yeonpyeongdo Peace Ecotour, Yeonpyeongdo Peace Gourmet Mudflat Experience, and Daecheong & Baengnyeong Tour. These tourism products will be operated from June through December.
