Incheon Namdong-gu Youth Challenge Support Project, Achievements in Social Reintegration of Isolated Youth
Namdong-gu, Incheon, achieved meaningful results in helping socially isolated youth reintegrate through the Youth Challenge Support Project, promoted as a public contest project by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
According to the district on the 14th, this project was operated with a program for employment and social reintegration for six months starting from September last year, followed by a three-month post-management program.
The district provided customized programs including various counseling, life management, motivation, confidence recovery, career exploration, and employment competency enhancement targeting reclusive, isolated, and discouraged job-seeking youth, supporting their participation in economic activities and return to the labor market.
Out of the total 60 participants, 56 completed the 15-week program from September last year, achieving a completion rate of 93%.
Additionally, through continuous employment support and post-management for three months after completing the program, 24 participants, accounting for 40% of the total, successfully returned to society and participated in the labor market through employment, start-ups, and linkage to vocational training.
In particular, Namdong-gu is evaluated to have achieved a high completion and employment rate based on systematic participant management and stabilized administrative capabilities by directly operating the Youth Challenge Support Project as a local government rather than outsourcing it.
