Public Corruption Investigation Office Holds Personnel Committee Meeting... "Agreement on the Need to Increase Prosecutor Staff"
The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) announced on the morning of the 13th that it held a personnel committee meeting and reached a consensus on the necessity of supplementing prosecutor personnel.

View original imageAccording to the HCIA, the meeting was attended by a total of six members, including Chairman Oh Dong-woon, two opposition party-appointed members, two ruling party-appointed members, and one member appointed by the director. Although the HCIA Act stipulates that the personnel committee should consist of seven members including the deputy director, the meeting was held excluding the currently vacant deputy director position.
During the meeting, the HCIA reported on the current status of work progress and future plans for prosecutor appointments, and gathered opinions from the committee members. The attending members agreed on the urgent need to supplement prosecutor personnel, the HCIA said.

At the first meeting held after the launch of the HCIA's second term, Director Oh said, "We aim to make the HCIA a strong and stable organization," adding, "I hope the personnel committee will deliver substantial results based on the spirit of consensus, which is the purpose of the personnel committee's composition under the HCIA Act, while meeting the expectations and wishes of the public."
