Yoon Byung-se, Former Foreign Minister, Appointed Chairman of Cheongwadae Foundation
Yoon In-chon: "Please Make the Blue House a World-Renowned Landmark"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 13th that it has appointed former Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoon Byung-se as the chairman of the Cheongwadae Foundation, a nonprofit organization. The term of office is three years, until June 2027.
Chairman Yoon graduated from the Department of Law at Seoul National University and earned a master's degree from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in the United States. He passed the Foreign Service Examination in 1976 and served as Minister at the Permanent Mission to Geneva, Minister at the Embassy in the United States, Director of Policy Coordination at the National Security Council Secretariat, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He also served as Senior Secretary for Unification, Foreign Affairs, and Security Policy at the Presidential Secretariat, was a visiting professor at Sogang University Graduate School of International Studies, and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017. He is currently chairman of the Seoul International Law Institute.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism highly valued his deep understanding of the historical significance of Cheongwadae and his extensive network across various domestic and international fields. They also judged his leadership and organizational management skills to be excellent. Minister Yoo In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested, "Based on your rich international experience, please establish a foundation for the development of the Cheongwadae Foundation and make Cheongwadae a world-renowned landmark."
