84 Daycare Centers Participate

The Hwaseong City Volunteer Center in Gyeonggi-do held a launch ceremony for the 'Children's Volunteer Corps Protecting the Earth' on the 12th at the Jang-an University Self-Realization Hall, together with 84 daycare centers in the district.

About 500 people attended the launch ceremony, including Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, Kim Se-je, Chairman of the Hwaseong City Volunteer Center, Kim Mia, President of the Hwaseong City Daycare Center Association, as well as children, teachers, and parents from local daycare centers.
The volunteer corps plans to carry out campaigns such as plogging and transparent PET bottle separation and disposal practices to foster proper awareness of environmental protection and to spread a culture of volunteer participation.
Kim Mia, President of the Hwaseong City Daycare Center Association, said, "I am glad that children have the opportunity to participate directly in environmental protection volunteer activities," adding, "We will take the lead in protecting the environment together with the children."
