Shinhan Asset Management, 'SOL US AI Semiconductor Chipmaker' Continues Excellent Performance
Shinhan Asset Management announced on the 12th that the ‘SOL US AI Semiconductor Chipmaker Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)’ has continued to deliver excellent performance since its listing. The recent one-month return stands at 14.35%, ranking among the top in AI semiconductors listed domestically.
Listed on the KOSPI market on April 16, the SOL US AI Semiconductor Chipmaker ETF is a product that allows focused investment in chipmaker companies such as Nvidia and AMD, which design essential GPUs, NPUs, CPUs, and more for AI operation in the non-memory semiconductor market. It consists of a total of 10 stocks, including Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Broadcom, and Qualcomm.
Junghyun Kim, Head of the ETF Business Division at Shinhan Asset Management, said, "Due to the rapid expansion of AI demand, the companies that can benefit most directly are a few chipmaker firms that possess the core technology for chip design. The SOL US AI Semiconductor Chipmaker ETF, which holds Nvidia at the highest weighting in its portfolio, is an optimal product that allows investment in the long-term growth potential of the AI semiconductor industry while managing the short-term volatility risk of individual stocks."
If non-memory semiconductors, which interpret, compute, and process data, are the core of AI semiconductors, then the hegemony of the non-memory semiconductor value chain is held by a few chipmaker companies that possess the core technology of chip design. In particular, Nvidia, which dominates over 80% of the AI chip market, has shown dramatic growth as companies across all industries adopt generative AI.
Kim added, "As AI spreads comprehensively, related industries are becoming more segmented, so investment should also be approached from the same perspective. Since performance differences can occur depending on the composition and weighting of stocks in AI-related ETFs, it is important to carefully check the investment concept and constituent stocks."
