Creating a Culture of Respect and Consideration in Public Service... Pohang Holds 'Gender Equality Practice Pledge Ceremony'
Pledge to Create a Gender-Equal Public Service Culture Without Gender Discrimination
Pohang City held a 'Gender Equality Practice Pledge Ceremony' on the 11th for public officials of grade 5 and above.
At the event, participants signed a 'Gender Equality Practice Pledge,' which focused on key points such as using respectful language, respecting and considering generational differences, not invading or interfering with personal privacy, and enhancing gender sensitivity in daily life. They pledged to take the lead in creating a public service culture based on mutual respect and consideration.
Earlier this month, as part of efforts to eliminate discriminatory practices within the organization and create a safer and better workplace, the city produced a promotional video on fostering a gender-equal public service culture, featuring senior officials of grade 4 and above.
This video will be used in violence prevention training and other programs for employees to raise awareness about the need for a gender-equal organizational culture and to encourage participation in building a workplace culture of respect and consideration.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "Through this pledge ceremony, I hope that senior public officials who lead our organizational culture will take the initiative and actively work to foster a gender-equal public service culture."
