Minister Yoon In-chon: "Leading as a Government Innovation Pioneer"
On the 11th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed Jeong Un-hyeon as the director of the Korea Culture Information Service Agency. The term is three years, until June 2027.
Newly appointed director Jeong started as a reporter in the investigation department of JoongAng Ilbo, and has served as deputy head of the culture department at Seoul Shinmun and editor-in-chief at OhmyNews. He has researched and reported on cultural informatization for many years. Having served as a board member of the Korea Press Foundation and as chief secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, he gained extensive administrative experience and received the highest score in the open recruitment and evaluation process.
Minister Yoo In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, "Based on your experience and expertise, please respond to the rapidly accelerating global digital environment and lead the Korea Culture Information Service Agency as a government innovation-leading institution by utilizing digital new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism."
