Construction of a 100m-long, 2-3m-wide Ochre Path near Anyangcheon Dunji Multipurpose Plaza
Located in the heart of the city near Geumcheon-gu Office Station with excellent accessibility
Equipped with various amenities for residents' relaxation, including foot washing stations, benches, and platforms
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will create and operate a 100m-long, 2-3m-wide loess path near the Anyangcheon Riverside Multipurpose Plaza.
This was prepared to provide residents with a walking trail where they can relieve stress and improve health by walking barefoot in nature.
Walking barefoot on a loess path is known to have various benefits such as improving blood circulation, strengthening muscles, and relieving stress, which has recently gained attention.
The district created the loess path under the cherry blossom trees along Anyangcheon. Residents can walk barefoot while enjoying the scent of plants, fresh air, and the scenery of Anyangcheon. In spring, they can enjoy spring flowers such as cherry blossoms and forsythia; in summer, 32 varieties of roses blooming in the nearby rose garden; and in autumn, the charm of Anyangcheon with cosmos flowers and fallen leaves.
Additionally, the district has provided rest areas including foot washing stations, benches, and platforms so that anyone can conveniently use the loess path.
For the safety of residents, wearing shoes, walking with injured feet, and bringing pets are prohibited. The loess path may be slippery when it rains, so operation will be suspended and resumed after drainage, replenishment of loess, and removal of leaves are completed.
Meanwhile, the district is currently constructing loess paths at four locations aiming for opening in October this year: Mansucheon Park, the entrance of Siheung-dong Archery Range, Omi Ecological Park, and Geumcheon Sports Park.
